A new, unique,
scientifically proven
treatment for rosacea

Honevo® Red has great science to show it works: a large study showed that in just 8 weeks most users had an improvement in their rosacea and for 1 in 8 their rosacea completely disappeared.

The science behind Honevo® is supported by:

  • Large study published in the prestigious British Medical Journal Open
  • Developed by a team of doctors, professors and dermatologists
  • Mechanisms by which it works are well understood
  • A survey of Honevo users found that more than 3/4 said that it was better than any other product for rosacea that they had tried, including prescription treatments

The active ingredient is a special type of honey
obtained from a New Zealand tea tree called kanuka.

Product Description

Honevo® Red is a new facial mask which is used to effectively and safely treat rosacea. It contains only 2 natural ingredients: kanuka honey from New Zealand, and plant derived glycerin.

The kanuka honey used is “pharmaceutical-grade”, which means that it is not raw honey, but honey that has been purified and sterilized. Making it safe to apply to the skin.

Completely natural, Honevo® has powerful antibacterial activity, reduces redness and inflammation, and also heals damaged skin.

Directions

Honevo® Red looks and feels like honey and does not rub into the skin but stays on the affected area, healing it and treating the condition. It is applied for at least 15 minutes twice a day and washes off easily.

  • Apply Honevo® directly to affected area of the face.
  • Leave for 15 minutes and then wash off.
  • Users have reported that leaving Honevo on for longer leads to better results, and there is no harm in leaving it on for several hours.
  • Use twice daily.

Honey kills micro-organisms in several different ways.

Honey has a number of physicochemical characteristics which give it unique properties that are responsible for its effectiveness in treating some medical conditions:

In a large study of 137 people presented at the American Academy of Dermatology meeting in 2015, and published in the British Medical Journal Open:

  • 65% of people had an improvement with Honevo Red
  • 34% had a large improvement
  • The disease disappeared completely in 13%
  • Improvements were seen within 2 weeks and had increased when the study ended at 8 weeks
  • Participants in the study had previously had rosacea symptoms for an average of 15 years

In the study, participants were assessed by doctors who did not know if they had used Honevo Red or the placebo cream. Importantly, there were no significant side effects with the use of Honevo Red.  View detailed study results.

Honevo® Red works in several different ways:

  • Kills the mites and bacteria which are often part of the disease process
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Heals damaged skin
  • Moisturizes the skin
  • It is an antioxidant
  • Osmotic effect – honey is a concentrated sugar solution predominantly consisting of fructose and glucose. There are very few water molecules available for micro-organisms and so it is a poor environment for their growth.
  • Hydrogen peroxide – this is slowly released when the honey comes into contact with the body and has antiseptic properties.
  • Acidity – honey is very acidic with a pH of 3.2 to 4.5, as acidic as some vinegars, which also makes micro-organism growth difficult.
  • Antioxidants – it contains bioflavonoids and other antioxidants which may contribute to its activity.

The Science of Kanuka Honey

Our honey comes from a place called Katikati in the beautiful Bay of Plenty in the North Island of New Zealand. Our partner BeeNZ has a brand new hi-spec honey processing facility with the latest processing and packing technology. Our honey comes from over 1,200 hives which are placed in areas of dense kanuka tree plantations. Our honey can be traced back to the exact hive that it came from.
