Product Description

Honevo® Red is a mask that reduces facial redness, kills bacteria and is anti-inflammatory and moisturizing. A strong, natural antiseptic which can heal wounds, naturally.

Provides rapid relief from redness in the affected areas of the face. The patented Honevo® formulation is created with pharmaceutical-grade Kanuka honey.

Completely natural, Honevo® combines powerful antibacterial activity with deep moisturising.

Honevo® Red looks and feels like honey and does not rub into the skin but stays on the affected area, healing it and treating the condition. It is applied for at least 15 minutes twice a day and washes off easily.

  • Apply Honevo® directly to affected area of the face.
  • Leave for 15 minutes and then wash off. (People have  reported that leaving it on longer leads to better results  and there is no harm from leaving it for several hours.)
  • Use twice daily.

Honevo® Red works in several different ways:

  • Kills the mites and bacteria which are often part of the disease process
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Heals damaged skin
  • Moisturizes the skin
  • It is an antioxidant

In a large study of 137 people presented at the American Academy of Dermatology meeting in 2015, and published in the British Medical Journal Open:

  • 65% of people had an improvement with Honevo Red
  • 34% had a large improvement
  • The disease disappeared completely in 13%
  • Improvements were seen within 2 weeks and had increased when the study ended at 8 weeks
  • Participants in the study had previously had rosacea symptoms for an average of 15 years

In the study, participants were assessed by doctors who did not know if they had used Honevo Red or the placebo cream. Importantly, there were no significant side effects with the use of Honevo Red.

The results were at least as good, if not better, than those that have been achieved for standard prescription-only treatments such as topical metronidazole. View detailed study results.

Honey kills micro-organisms in several different ways.

Honey has a number of physicochemical characteristics which give it unique properties that are responsible for its effectiveness in treating some medical conditions:

  • Osmotic effect – honey is a concentrated sugar solution predominantly consisting of fructose and glucose. There are very few water molecules available for micro-organisms and so honey it is a poor environment for their growth.
  • Hydrogen peroxide – this is slowly released when the honey comes into contact with the body and has antiseptic properties.
  • Acidity – honey is very acidic with a pH of 3.2 to 4.5, as acidic as some vinegars, which also makes micro-organism growth difficult.
  • Antioxidants – it contains bioflavonoids and other antioxidants which may contribute to its activity.
